Handknit Alpaca Hats

Wonderfully soft, warm, sustainable and stylish 100% alpaca wool hats! These beanies, turbans and berets are handknit by local indie brand Studio Ked using yarn sourced from Washington state, where our dear friends own a small family farm. Completely free of dyes and harsh chemicals, these hats are meticulously handcrafted with a level of precision and attention to detail characteristic of small-batch production.

Due to its semi-hollow fiber structure, alpaca wool is naturally smoother than merino wool. It has anti-microbial properties, a higher tensile strength, natural insulation, and greater water resistance. Not only are these hats incredibly warm, durable and comfortable, but they are also hypoallergenic due to the lack of lanolin in alpaca wool. This means they are a great choice for those with sensitive skin or wool allergies.

Our hats come in a range of natural colors - soft greys, off black charcoal, and deep chocolatey browns - all the colors of the alpacas themselves!
